Acerca de notificaciones
Las notificaciones alertan a profesores, estudiantes y otros usuarios acerca de eventos en Moodle tales como nuevas publicaciones en foros, tareas que necesitan ser calificadas o insignias otorgadas. Las nuevas notificaciones están resaltadas con un número en el menú de notificaciones en la parte superior de la pantalla:

Al hacer clic allí se muestran cualquier notificación nueva, junto con la opción para marcarlas todas como leídas (1 debajo), ir a la página de preferencias de notificaciones (2) para cambiar como son recibidas las notificaciones, y (3) para ver todas las notificaciones.

Al hacer clic en 'Ver notificación completa' se muestra la notificación en una lista completa, mientras que hacer click en el cuerpo principal de la notificación lo llevará al lugar en Moodle en donde sucedió el evento; como en este ejemplo, en la pantalla para calificar tarea.
Recibiendo notificaciones
Junto con una alerta visible a nuevos eventos en el menú de notificaciones, los usuarios pueden configurar cómo son notificados acerca de nuevos eventos desde su página de preferencias de notificación accedida desde el menú del usuario o desde el ícono de 'Preferencias de notificación' del engrane, en el menú de notificaciones.

en Moodle 5.0 !
Las notificaciones pueden ser enviada por web (cuando se está ingresado en Moodle), Email y mobile (para sitios con Moodle Mobile-habilitado) o mensaje SMS (solo para notificaciones sobre Tareas a partir de Moodle 5.0 en adelante, y se necesita una Puerta de enlace (gateway) SMS que esté configurada).

Como deshabilitar la notificación de 'Nuevo ingreso a su cuenta'
Acceda a las configuraciones de Notificaciones desde el ícono del engrane dentro del ícono de Notificaciones en la parte superior de su pantalla a la izquierda de su Perfil. Deshabilite la configuración 'Notificaciones de nuevos ingresos'. (Tenga en cuenta que los administradores pueden hacer esto para el sitio desde la Administración del sitio > Mensajería > Configuraciones de notificaciones.)
Admin settings
In Site administration > General > Messaging > Notification settings the site admin can enable notification plugins and set default notification preferences.
There are 4 standard notification plugins:
- SMS (new in 5.0 and only for assignment notifications initially)
- Web
- Mobile.

By default, web and email are both enabled, although email will only work of course if the site has been properly configured to deliver email. SMS and mobile notifications are off by default and need to be configured first.
- Mobile notifications require a Moodle app subscription. For details, see Moodle app notifications.
- SMS notifications require an SMS gateway. For details, see Puertas de enlace (gateways) SMS.
Default notification preferences
For each notification, you can enable/disable notifications and also the types of notification. If a notification type is locked, users cannot change it.
All web notifications are enabled by default for all users in new installations of Moodle LMS.

Capabilities
The following capabilities can be applied as permissions to make custom changes to roles affecting messaging.
- course:bulkmessaging - Send a message to many people
- site:readallmessages - Read all messages on site
- site:sendmessage - Send messages to any user
- user:editownmessageprofile - Edit own user messaging profile
- user:editmessageprofile - Edit user messaging profile
All email messages and notifications go to the email address set in a user's profile. The administrator can optionally allow users to choose to have notifications sent to a different email address. This is off by default and can be enabled in Site administration > Messaging settings.
Users can then enter their alternative email address under Preferences/User account/Notification preferences: Click on the gear icon next to "Email" in the table header and enter the alternative email.
Note: The 'messagingallowemailoverride' setting does not affect failed log in notifications as they do not go through the messaging system, and will therefore still go to the original email specified.
