A teacher can add link to a file by using one of the "add a resource" drop down menu in course. The "Adding a new file" will ask for a link name and an optional description.

In the content area, the teacher can click the add button and the File picker menu will assist them in adding a file from their computer or a Moodle file [Repository]]. Or the teacher can add a folder and then user File picker to add 1 or more files.

There are display options which allow the teacher to force the file in a download, or make it appears one of several different window types.

There are the usual Common module settings and the Restrict access settings Conditional activities.


Site administration settings

The file module has additional settings which may be changed by an administrator in Settings > Site administration > Plugins > Activity modules > File.
