Rolling Release Updates

This page provides documentation of all improvements in rolling releases. It is expected that these new features will be added to the next major release.

Courses

Changed layout of enrolment page

The layout of the course enrolment page (accessed from the catalogue) has changed and now uses the same styles as the program self-allocation page. The functionality has not changed and remains the same as before.

Programs

Automatic enrolment

A new Course enrolment setting has been introduced in the Program details that lets you specify when users are enrolled in courses within the program. You can choose whether enrolment occurs when a user accesses a course for the first time or immediately when the course becomes available to them.

• The first time the user accesses the course: This is the behaviour so far; the user is only enrolled in the course when they access it for the first time.
• As soon as the course is available to the user. As soon as users have access to a course within a program, they will be enrolled automatically in them.

One typical use case of the new setting is for an instructor to create courses before the course actually starts.

Report and chart block visual improvements

Icons have been added to the Expand and Refresh button. The and Edit table layout button is shown more prominently.

Ehe Edit chart layout button has been replaced with the Edit chart button. In addition to the previously available Layout option, users have now the ability to select which columns to use in a chart.

The Chart columns section has the following options:

• X-axis: Select the column to be used for the horizontal axis (or equivalent in a pie chart)
• Y-axis: Select the column to be used for the vertical axis (or equivalent in a pie chart)
