Talk:Import questions

From MoodleDocs

The help pages shipped with Moodle are not the same as the ones here...

  • XML format is not included in the docs here....
  • multianswer
  • etc

--Dennis Daniels 12:00, 8 June 2006 (WST)

multianswer is also known as CLOZE, it is mentioned here, isn't it?

The help pages shipped with Moodle and the information here are not meant to be identical. That would just be pointless duplication. The two serve different purposes. However, if important information that should be here is missing, then any help you can give in updating this wiki would be greatly appreciated.Tim Hunt 21:55, 26 July 2006 (WST)

Also, you must export questions from other classes to be able to get the questions into the test bank... apparently there's no easy way to share question categories across courses.

import questions into Course B

You can share questions. You need to 'publish' them in Course A, then you can use them in Course B.Tim Hunt 21:55, 26 July 2006 (WST)

Cloze-filter not compatible to 1.6

I couldn't find any information about it in the release notes and version changes, but files, that can be imported properly under 1.5 just don't work in the new version. All I get is a blank page. Any one more information on that. If it is a problem of the new version it should be mentioned here (and there ;-) ) --Just Me 17:07, 26 July 2006 (WST)

It's a bug. No-one understands why it is happening, but it is. It's not a great situation, but its where we are. There have been several posts about it in the forum.Tim Hunt 21:55, 26 July 2006 (WST)

Thanks for the info. But all I could find on the forum were posts that relate to actual Cloze content. I haven't found anything concerning the actual import of Cloze files. Are these two problems just two sides of the same coin, or are there maybe separate bugs in the Cloze-display and the import filter? --Just Me 18:33, 2 August 2006 (WST)

respondusqti import file format

I notice that the respondusqti import file format isn't listed here. At my institution we have Respondus available for our faculty and it has an IMS QTI 1.1+ personality that will export files that can be imported into Moodle using the respondusqti file format. This is VERY useful to instructors who have access to Respondus. Perhaps you might consider adding and explaining this option. Hi Lane, thanks for the hint. Feel free to add to the documentation, either here and/or at Import and export FAQ - it's a wiki ;-) --Frank Ralf 14:30, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
