Issues with install

Hi, Don't know if this is the place to put this, but, after the step: Moodle paths and before Database Configuration

the process is stopping. I don't know why, I put all my intranet and browser settings from explorer on low and shut off all virus protection.

I tried it in Firefox as well and the same thing happened; the screen goes white and doesn't proceed to the next step.

Don't know if anyone can suggest a solution or if anyone else has/will run into this problem. 10:10, October 12, 2008 Sylvia Riben

I would go to the Installation problems forum --Chris collman 17:06, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

PHP MySQL library version 5.0.51a differs from your MySQL server version 5.1.33

"Your PHP MySQL library version 5.0.51a differs from your MySQL server version 5.1.33. This may cause unpredictable behavior." - This is PHPMyAdmin warning in latest XAMPP package (MoodleWindowsInstaller-latest-19.zip). Is it normal? While setting up this moodle I've got an errors:

  • ALTER TABLE mdl_groups_members COMMENT='Link a user to a group.' failed
  • Could not create admin user record
  • Could not create guest user record !!!

By the way, where is proper way to report problems like this? --Ne Nashev 16:02, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi, Tracker is the best place to put it. Encourage you to set up a log in at Tracker and create a bug report.
Glad you put a note here, I have been creating a series of localhost over the last 3 weeks and thought I noticed that the a localhost created with the XAMPP package and the standard Moodle seemed to work every time with a touchy plug module, than any of the complete window install package builds compiled in at least June. But I did not see any error message on my interface level. --Chris collman 11:59, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Do we need a separate Moodle Install page

Been playing around with XAMPP Windows install page. The Moodle install part is duplicted there. I am thinking of doing a translocation, to this page fancy), or sending readers to the subheading here. Issue I have is that I think I want to really create a full section "== Create Moodle ==" from the language install screen to at least the copyright screen. Perhaps perhaps we need a single page for this segment. I assume from this point it is used by all the different operating systems, not just windows.

  • See Moodle installation screens. I put some duplicate screen shots on that page of screens that look different from the most recent 1.9.5 standard install.

Opinions???? Best --Chris collman 17:04, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
