Line numbering trick

Hi Eloy, Thanks for teaching me the cool line numbering trick for code samples! I added it to my (and anybody's) toolbox MoodleDocs:Style guide#PHP syntax highlighting. --Frank Ralf 10:31, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for everything else Frank! (after all, I only added one char to that pages) ;-) --Eloy Lafuente (stronk7) 15:57, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

PHP7 and Ubuntu Moodle servers

Hola Eloy, Is it good or bad to use PHP7.0 when installing an Ubuntu 16.04 server (either local for testing or a production server) ? German Valero (talk)

Hi German, I'd not say it's bad. Just it depends if all the extensions you need are available and working or not (mssql, oracle, memcached...). I'd say that for the "standard" (out-of-the-box) Moodle server with mysql or postgres it's nice to have it working with PHP 7, with things becoming trickier if you use some proprietary database or custom feature. For reference, this summer (2016), I'll be changing the 2 real Moodle servers I've to use PHP7, once I get them upgraded to Moodle 3.1. Hope it helps. --Eloy Lafuente (stronk7) (talk) 19:38, 4 July 2016 (AWST)
