I am George Brackett, a semi-retired educational designer and developer and Principal of George Brackett Associates in Cambridge MA USA (see website). In the 80s and 90s I wrote a baker's dozen of educational software programs published largely by Scholastic, Inc., in every language from Applesoft Basic to C and 65816 assembly. I am also co-founder of a small inner-city charter high school, Codman Academy Charter Public School or CACPS. My continuing relationship to this school helps keep me grounded in the realities of public education. I am an open-source advocate and contributor, having written several PHP/MySQL modules for the content management system phpWebSite and a couple of simple exploratory environments in the rapid-application-development IDE Revolution. I've been looking at Moodle development as a possible future development direction, particularly in terms of quiz questiontypes, although the limited documentation and complex environment are a significant barrier.
