I have designed a simple XML schema to store ISO/IEC XML metadata. It is not a full implementation but it does have all the metadata structures. Please let me know if anyone is interested.

Metadata development

We are developing a LOM based metadata structure for moodle. We don't know if there is a paralel development, but we are in contact with Eloy Lafuente to try to embeed this development in one of the stables versions of moodle. Using metadata to specify enrollment conditions too

Metadata system must become much more flexible and useful, if it allow teachers to specify some outcomes of another course as requirement to enroll to their courses (doing this with activities and resources give as simple way to create conditional activities too).

Also it's useful to combine outcome of the student with link to the teacher under whom guidance outcome achivied (and who guarantee this outcome - this can be a course creator if all activities will be completely automatic). In our pedagogical practice many times teachers name mean even more than outcome name to many people (employers included).

I suggest also using scales to determine grade of completed outcome.
