Está disponible un bloque que permite conectar un curso de Moodle con Elgg. Elgg se define como «personal learning landscape» (paisaje de aprendizaje personal) de código fuente abierto. Es una aplicación que proporciona a sus usuarios una combinación de [[weblogs|Blogs]], espacio de e-portfolio y herramientas para conectarse entre ellos y crear comunidades.
La integración Moodle-Elgg requiere usar las versiones Moodle 1.6 y Elgg 0.6 o posteriores. Funciona como un bloque que el profesor puede colocar en las áreas laterales del curso, mediante el cual el alumno tiene acceso a las novedades correspondientes a su cuenta de usuario en Elgg: comentarios recientes en su weblog, etc. Además, existe la posibilidad de que los alumnos puedan exportar sus tareas evaluadas por el profesor en Moodle, a su e-portfolio personal en Elgg.
