Since 2004 I'm coordinating Moodle translations. My job consists of helping new translators setting up a language pack, trying to help with technical and other problems, maintaining the Translation_credits page, etc.

It is my privilege to have known a lot of really enthusiastic Moodlers, so enthusiastic that they sacrifice loads of their time to make Moodle possible for all students and teachers who speak their languagae. The translators make the international growth of Moodle possible. Especially for countries where computers and software are very expensive compared with the standard of living, the effort of the translation team to make a good Moodle translation can make a difference. I'm glad to play a small part of that process.
