New available courses block

This feature is part of Moodle Workplace™, which is available through Moodle Certified Partners and Service Providers only.

The New available courses block can be placed on the Dashboard. It displays all courses (in alphabetical order) that satisfy all of the following criteria:

• The user has been enrolled in the course, that is, the course is new to the user (not new on the system)
• The user has never accessed the course, that is, the Course cover has not been passed
• If the user has been allocated via a program, program courses will only be displayed if the course is available to the user within the program, that is, the user fulfils the criteria to access the course as specified in the program completion types (All in order, All in any order, At least)

The block's full potential shows when used alongside programs or certifications as it shows the courses that a learner should be doing next when another course (of the program) has been completed.

The block works great in conjunction with the In progress courses block. Placing the two blocks together on the Dashboard (the default), they work as a kind of "vertical Kanban board," so users can see which courses have been completed and which are ongoing.
