Bookmarks is a sub plugin (ltool_bookmarks for Learning Tools which lets users bookmark courses and activities easily. It is a part of the main Learning Tools plugin (local_learningtools) and works without any additional configuration.

How to use as a student

Create a new bookmark

  1. Navigate to the page that you want to bookmark
  2. Click on the floating button (usually in the bottom right corner of your browser) to expand the available options
  3. Click on the bookmark button

After you have clicked on the bookmark button, there will be a notification that a bookmark was created and there will be a little green checkmark next to the bookmark button.

Opening a bookmark

  1. Click on your user profile picture and choose "Profile"
  2. Click on "Bookmarks" in the section "Learning Tools"
  3. Click on the button at the very right of the bookmark that you want to access

Viewing all bookmarks

  1. Click on your user profile picture and choose "Profile"
  2. Click on "Bookmarks" in the section "Learning Tools".

Viewing course bookmarks

  1. Open a course
  2. Click on "Participants"
  3. Click on your user profile picture or on your name
  4. Click on "Course Bookmarks" in the section "Learning Tools"

Note: you can also get bookmarks from a specific course if you choose that course on the main bookmarks list)

Deleting your bookmarks

  1. Open your bookmarks (see above for instructions)
  2. Click on the trash icon of the bookmark that you want to delete
  3. Confirm

Please note: There are capabilities for each action (creating, viewing, deleting), which are by default allowed for all users. If you do not see one of the options above, it is possible that your site administrator has changed that.

How to use as a teacher

Viewing student's bookmarks

  1. Open your course
  2. Click on "Participants"
  3. Click on the student
  4. Click on "Course Bookmarks" in the section "Learning Tools"

Please note: This might not be possible on your site, depending on how your site administrator has set up the roles.
