Ein Externes Tool ermöglicht es, LTI-konforme Lernmaterialien und Aktivitäten auf anderen Webseiten von Moodle aus zu nutzen. Ein externes Tool könnte z.B. Zugriff auf einen neuen Aktivitätentyp bieten, der von einem Provider bereitgestellt wird.
