Cloud Poodll Assignment Submission

From MoodleDocs

Give students the power to record and submit audio and video assignments...
Cloud Poodll Assignment Submission enables students to record and upload submissions right inside Moodle's native Assignment activity.

After installing Cloud Poodll Assignment Submission, teachers are able to select "Cloud Poodll" from the list of submission types in the Assignment settings. When adding a submission, students are presented with a recorder which they use for creating and uploading their assignment. The Cloud Poodll Assignment Submission has no dependencies. Teachers are able to choose the audio or video recorder that best serves their purposes, and all recordings are reliably stored in the Poodll cloud.

Please watch the Cloud Poodll Assignment Submission video for an overview.

About Cloud Poodll Assignment Submission

Cloud Poodll Assignment Submission makes collecting, storing, and playing student audio and video assignments effortless. Although the Moodle Assignment activity allows file submissions (including audio and video) from students, there are a number of practical considerations. Files may be submitted in formats that the teacher cannot open without downloading additional software. Some formats produce very large files that exceed course or site upload limits. Uploaded files must be downloaded onto the teacher's local device prior to opening. All of these issues are avoided when using Cloud Poodll Assignment Submission. Poodll handles recording, storage, transcoding, and playback to ensure that technical issues do not interfere with the submission and evaluation of student work.

Use Cases

Presentations

Oral presentations have become a common means of assessing students' understanding of the topics covered in a course of study. However, it is not always practical for each student to present live to their teachers and peers. Recorded audio and video submissions allow asynchonous assessment of presentations, allowing teachers to preserve valuable instruction time. Cloud Poodll Assignment Submission is perfect for remote learning contexts in which learners lack the opportunity to present in a shared physical space.

Speaking Practice

In language learning contexts, teachers are always searching for new opportunities to get their students speaking. Recorded mini-assignments give language learners the opportunity to practice basic skills such as self-introductions or presenting a unique aspect of their culture or homeland. Intermediate or advanced students might record extended monologues or unscripted conversations with classmates for assessment by the teacher.
