INTRO TO VOCABULARY

BASIC SENTENCE BUILDERS

There are simple sentence structures that a student needs to obey before making a sentence. It is a simple rule for the student.

The basic sentence consists of Nouns (N),Verbs (V), and Adjectives (A)

A NOUN is a word, a basic word. A VERB is a word describing action. An ADJECTIVE is a word describing the NOUN or VERB.

1. NOUN+VERB+NOUN

Ex: Ali plays football. - This is a simple and basic sentence. - It functions as a first sentence in a paragraph. - It is used as an introductory line.

2. NOUN+ADJECTIVE+VERB+NOUN

Ex: Ali hardly kicks the ball. - Functions as a secondary sentence, following the introducory sentence. - An adjective is added to describe the verb, here.

3. NOUN+VERB+ADJECTIVE+NOUN

Ex: Ali kicks, hardly the ball. - This sentence is also a secondary sentence. - The adjective, now describes the verb.

4. NOUN+VERB+NOUN+ADJECTIVES

Ex: Ali kicks the ball hardly. - This type of sentence structures are most commonly used. - This sentence also functions as a secondary sentence.

If you noticed, there are no tertiary sentences mentioned here. That's because tertiary sentences involve complex sentence structures and hence is not advised for the basic skills student.

In fact, if used correctly, these four sentence structures are the only ones necessary to build a paragraph. It is safer and moe advisable for the basics student to use the above sentence structures and avoid using the complex sentences.
