Enrolment

Course enrolment is about assigning users the role of student in a course.
By default, students can enrol themselves on whatever courses they choose. This method of enrolment is called internal enrolment. You can restrict users from enrolling on whatever courses they choose by setting an enrolment key.
Whilst internal enrolment is an effective and efficient way to of managing course enrolment, particularly if you don't have a lot of courses, Moodle also provides a number of other enrolment methods, called Enrolment plugins.
Manual enrolment
To manually enrol a student in a course i.e. assign a user the role of student:
- Follow the "Assign roles" link in the course administration block.
- Follow the student link.
- Select the user from the list of potential users on the right, and use the left-facing arrow button to add them to the list of existing users on the left. (Multiple users may be selected by holding down the Apple or Ctrl key whilst clicking on the users' names.)
