The listening examples are very important

Review the Mini- Lectures in Module #1 on the Sounds of the Instruments and Musical Terms. This will enable you to better recognize the instrumental sounds and the way the instruments act. Listening to these sounds regularly throughout the course will enable you to identify them later during important exams (music analysis). Devote 20 - 30 minuets a day until you feel comfortable recognizing the sounds.

There are additional web sites which will enable you to hear additional musical samples beyond the mini-lecture page. These web sites are specific to the their respective Mini-Lectures and will be given to you during the appropriate modules. You can also visit the I-Tunes Web site. This site will allow you to preview music (30 seconds) and it will allow you to do searches for other recordings from the artists we are studying.
