quest editor hhmss....

advanced editor with rules and the (actions, conditions, actions) can create quests fairly easily.but i would like to separate it some.

for most part a teachers lesson plan for current day. would / could be a quest...

  1. have students hand in home work, and then hand them back out to students and let them grade someone else's homework
  2. read out load from a book, students taking turns
  3. have students read through X pages in a book
  4. have students take a test on book, including some essay questions for reflection.
  5. have students write out there work for math class.
  6. Q/A session between classroom and teacher
  7. have students type up something in a private blog
  8. coming up empty been to many years.

==

for moodle how ever... a quest can be broken up over longer doings...

    1. daily read x amount of pages,
    2. daily take quiz to verify students reading book

  1. say going over power tools. and you only get through saws and drills. in class with students. but need to get hammers covered. assuming student has a computer at home and internet connection. give home work. finish out "hammers" everything is already there.
    1. the issue with quests, is there is a bit more "pre planning" a head of time. less spur of the moment adjustments, without additional work of editing a quest. and as a teacher above. say ok this is homework tonight class, and your done, well for quests you are not done. you would need to go in and edit the quest. to reflect "hammers" as homework.
  2. as students finishes parts or entire quest. points could be assigned to skills, to grades, to other.
  3. quests are setup to auto figure stuff out in some aspects. as in how many points to put into a given skill to show student has learned that much of a given skill.

with a quest editor. a teacher needs more control over the quests. both for say entire classroom, but also ability to individualize it per student.

  1. i can almost see some publisher create a bunch of quests / lesson plans. and then teacher loads them all up. but quests just do not fit students / class room / teacher style / learning styles.
    1. in above there almost needs to be a way to "duplicate" original quest created. and then individualized ((if referring to github, multipule forks happening)) and this is were quest editor most likely splits away from "advanced editor" and/or enhances advanced editor.
  2. while most things in moodle are activities / resources geared directly towards the students. a quest is going to have some "blah blah" explaining things, what to do, how to do it, etc... and this stuff is not directly connected to skills. and were more likely information is placed into quests. vs trying to add the content into activities / resources / skills, etc...
  3. quests are used to help create / adjust small / short term goals, and larger / long term goals.
  4. quests can be used to deal with "time" has X minutes to take quest, has X days to read through book, has X weeks for project
