A user with this capability will be able to view the full names of other users when the full names would not otherwise be viewable. That is, it only has an effect when the Full Name Format is set to First name (or Language) in [[Site policies]].

For example, the default Student role prevents viewfullnames, while the default Teacher role allows it. If the Full Name Format is set to First name, then Students will only be able to see the first names of other users, while Teachers will be able to see their full names.
