I would disagree with the "WARNING" section here, because if "Switch roles" does not give the correct view, it should be reported as a bug to the Tracker.

One area in which "Switch roles" does get weird is when you have groups/groupings. You will only see the activities/modules for the group/groupings that the user you are logged in as that has an explicit membership.

For example, if you login as a site admin, normally you would see all modules for all groups, but if you use switch roles, you will no longer see those modules, because you don't have an explicit membership in those groups.
