Articles in this category describe tools and techniques for using Moodle as a mathematics learning environment.

Mathematics teachers may also be interested to follow the work of York University Maths department, who are working on some projects to augment Moodle, particularly its Quiz module for online assessment, for example by integrating a system which is able to mark algebraic and trigonometric answers to open-ended questions.

All these discussions are now getting old. The tools used have moved on and are getting better, and are more accessible than they were before - when these discussions were relevant. While still a long way from perfect, the Moodle native TeX notation filter is a handy tool to use.
