I have tried following these instructions using Moodle versions 1.7 and 1.7.1+ and found that they do not work. I believe this is due to bug [https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-7764 MDL-7764] (the site-wide role assignment fails). - Craig Fowler, Harlow College 27th March 2007

How does this work?

I cannot see how the setup of this role would allow the person access to all courses without being enrolled. The only thing this guide says to select is to view course set to allow. I'm looking and even students have that capability. What am I missing?Dan donche 19:59, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
