Talk:Share Files

From MoodleDocs

My wife asked me to set up a Moodle site with rooms instead of courses. Chairpersons instead of teachers and board members instead of non-editing teachers. No guests allowed. So far they do not want students or general members in there. Well the Newsletter committee wants to maintain an archive of past newsletters and and the lastest newsletter, that other committee rooms can link to. How can the committee share the files, she asks.

I found this page and read through the links to the forum threads. I decided to create a tip and tricks section. I put my "solution". I am sure there are other ways of doing it but that worked for me and I believe can be duplicated by others who are not developers or php tweakers :)

So I created a course/room and called it a metaroom and followed the instructions. I did go back to the metaroom played around with the overrides. Discovered that non-editing teachers could not manage files in a course, so I changed that. Then in the metacourse/room, took it away with an override.

Any one who wants to edit my whacky trick or put in some BEWARES, go for it.
