Talk:Override permissions

From MoodleDocs

Use of screenshots

Just thinking that it's rather confusing to include screenshots of other pages on the override permissions page. I think this page should have an override permissions screenshot only and that the allow role overrides screenshot should be included on the allow role overrides page. Any comments? --Helen Foster 15:34, 21 January 2008 (CST)

I see what you are saying. As per my comments elsewhere today: How does this page interface with "Roles permissions" (or name change to Role permissions), which I think of the title of a page that gives the overview of the permission concept. "Override permission" should talk about the exceptions, the how and why. Currently "Override" has the most useful explanation about permissions and "Roles permissions" is empty but on the todo. --Chris collman 06:59, 20 February 2008 (CST)
Hi Chris, please note that many pages in the documentation (including this one) are named the same as the corresponding page in Moodle.

overridden permissions are gone when course is restored

Today I found out that settings of overridden permissions were not copied to a course restored from a backup in which the override permissions were initially set up. I wonder if this needs to be mentioned on the page.
