So, a question then: I need my learners to follow a certain format in their answers. The syntax that a PICK database uses when creating paragraph prompts is to use two "less than" signs on the left side of part of the code, and to use two "greater than" signs on the right side of it. I'll put an example at the bottom of this email in case it lopps off my comment.

So, is there a way to let a Moodle "essay type quiz question" pass 2 "less than" signs, then a string, and then two "greater than" signs, as part of an answer?

An example that may or may not be visible since Moodle seems to lopp off the data after and including the 2 less-than signs. It only seems to happen that way some of the time.

Thank you for any insights you can provide.

My example of a normal answer is immediately below - most of the time Moodle will lopp off all text after WITH 23 " (thanks for any insights you can provide).

SELECT ACCOUNT WITH 23 "<<A, ENTER A STATUS CODE>>"
