How do I make a front page block visible to teachers but not students?

I just updated this for 2.0 using the "authenticated user on the front page role" I have never used this role before so would be very grateful if someone would check this for me and ensure it is the correct way (or A correct way ) to do this. Because I just made it up :) --Mary Cooch 03:42, 10 September 2011 (WST)

Hi Mary, did you make up the "authenticated user on the front page" role? I can't see it on either http://demo.moodle.net or http://qa.moodle.net ;-) Anyway I think the basic method of having a role with permission to view a block which can be assigned in the block context is fine! --Helen Foster 21:41, 12 September 2011 (WST)

On my Moodle 2.0.3 and my Moodle 2.1 when I go to define roles I see

Authenticateduserfrontpage.png

I never really understood its use until the other day when I did this. But I don't understand why it isn't on the demo or QA Moodles. Has it been removed in later versions? I must find out! I certainly didn't make it up :)--Mary Cooch 00:30, 13 September 2011 (WST)

And .. Colin wrote this in January so I didn't imagine it https://docs.moodle.org/20/en/Roles_2.0#Are_there_any_different_Roles_then.3F --Mary Cooch 00:34, 13 September 2011 (WST)
