Prep for Moodle 2.0

Portfolio will be part of Standard package in 2.0. I do not know how it relates to previous versions and what needs to happen to transition from Portfolio 1.9 to 2.0 . I noticed under Advanced features (a new 2.0 feature?) that "Portfolio" was a broken link, so came here. I broke the version out into subheadings but the big picture people may have a better idea. --Chris collman 15:42, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Chris, the third-party Portfolio module, and the Portfolio integration in Moodle 2.0 core are completely separate things. I think you should revert your changes to this page.--Tim Hunt 16:22, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for comment. I think a new page rather than a revert is in order. Any suggestion for naming the contributed module Portfolio page? "Portfolio module" should be the starting page name for 2.0 Portfolio version. Maybe a Portfolio Disambiguation page for a year or so, and add a Portfolio 1.9 for the contributed module page. "Old Portfolio module" as a page name is not very respectful :) --Chris collman 17:13, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Hi Tim, I am just going to do it. I needed the info your provided to make an articulable decision. --Chris collman 17:40, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Hi Chris, thanks for your efforts with this. However, I'm in agreement with Tim that the changes should be reverted since portfolios in Moodle 2.0 will not be a module. Regarding renaming the contributed portfolio module documentation page, I suggest the same name as in the modules and plugins database - SPDC Portfolio. --Helen Foster 19:10, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Ah, and of course I read things in reverse order, here last :) Easiest is to revert and do a paste. So the non-module portfolio will have the same name except san the Development: part. Sorry for the tempest in the teapot.--Chris collman 21:48, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Chris, sorry I didn't explain things well enough. The SPDC Portfolio is not actually a module, in fact none of the contributed portfolios are modules! Thus, I've renamed this page. Thanks for not getting offended easily :-) --Helen Foster 09:30, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Not getting offended in Moodle is one of my specialties, and just perhaps offsets my lengthy posts and humor (I was going to call this page "Rose thingy") :) As the perpetual newbie, I really do appreciate everyone's attention and patience. --Chris collman 12:58, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
