Explanation about expression outcome statement and other things
I'm trying to translate your article about pedagogy and I don't understand the notion of outcome statement.
I need also some explanation about this sentence : "Currently Moodle courses need to be manually connected to state learning standards" I'm not sure to understand do you talk about learning standards (SCORM, AICC) or something else. I don't understand the need of manual connection.
If someone could explain, I will try to translate correctly.
- Hi, my understanding of an outcome statement is a description of what a student should be able to do after completing a particular course e.g. "Understand the meaning of the terms X, Y and Z" or "Be able to explain the differences between X and Y".
- Regarding learning standards, I think it refers to standards which a particular country has decided upon, rather than SCORM or AICC. Standards may be described using outcome statements.
- Regarding the manual connection, currently the only way to include standards (or outcome statements) in Moodle courses is to type them into each course manually.
- Hope this helps explain things. --Helen Foster 05:00, 16 January 2007 (CST)
