Talk:Course creator role
Note: You are currently viewing documentation for Moodle 1.9. Up-to-date documentation for the latest stable version is available here: Course creator role.
Under "Creating a course" I am frustrated by the statement, "The "Add a new course" button may be found at the bottom of the page listing all courses."
I am frustrated by this first of all because I have created several users and assigned them with the Course Creator role at the level of course categories. When I log in as these users and view courses within the categories, there is no such link. Secondly, I am annoyed by "may be found" which implies "may not be found." Could we have a little more precision here?
Update to this comment:
After logging in as admin and creating one course in one of these course categories, then logging out and logging back in as a course creator, the "Add a new course" did indeed, appear. So, is the key for the administrator to create at least one course to "prime the pump" as it were?
- Hi Joe, thanks for your comments. The statement about the "Add a new course" button should of course be "...can be found...". I've added a note about assigning users in the course category context. --Helen Foster 11:23, 26 November 2007 (CST)
- "Note: If a user is assigned the role of course creator in the course category context, the "Add a new course" button only appears when the course category contains at least one course." - this seems more as a bug than the feature to be documented --David Mudrak 09:45, 1 March 2009 (CST)
