== Who is the Hackfest for? ==

The Hackfest is for Moodle core developers. Ideally attendees will have contributed to Moodle core code already, or at least be involved in large customised installations. [http://moodle.com/hq Moodle HQ developers] and [[Core developers|component leads]] from [http://moodle.com/partners/list Moodle Partners] and universities are expected to be in attendance.  We plan to hit the ground running.

We are hoping to have about 40 attendees.  If we have too many apply then we will unfortunately need to make some selections.

If you'd like to come, please let us know as soon as possible so we can accommodate you, by email to [mailto:michaeld@moodle.com michaeld@moodle.com].

What happened?

A Hackfest brings together key Moodle developers to brainstorm future Moodle developments.

This hackfest had 38 people (mostly core developers) from all over the world, and we worked on:

  • Ideas for solutions to existing problems
  • Specifications for architecture changes in future versions
  • Actual bug fixing and improvements.

We also had scheduling sessions, group sessions, reporting sessions, and plenty of opportunities to socialise, have fun and most importantly, get to know each other better.
