This document is your starting point for learning about our plans for upcoming releases of Moodle.  See our [[Releases]] page for details about current and past releases.

Since Moodle 2.0 we have switched to time-based releases rather than feature-based releases, as part of our new [[Process|development process]].  Because of this, the details below are an indication of current priorities only, and are subject to change according to how long things take to develop.
 
The items in the roadmap are part of a long-term development vision for Moodle, which is heavily influenced by requests from our user community.

Release date:  1st December 2011
 
* Gradebook - refactoring of grading interfaces as a central system
* Rubrics - core implementation of Rubrics grading, usable by all modules that support grading
* Assignment - refactor module to remove subtypes, add web services for offline grading
* improvements to Files interface and repository links
* Paged course formats - allowing each section to be in separate pages
* IMS LTI - moving support into core
 
== Version 2.3 ==
 
Release date: 1st June 2012
 
* Oauth2 - cross-system authentication, for integration with other systems and to replace MNet.
 
== Other major priorities ==
 
The following are features that are currently being worked on, but we do not know exactly when they will make it into core.
 
*  Survey 2 -  an activity module that combines Survey, Questionnaire and Feedback
