Are there any other reports?

As well as Moodle's standard reports, there are also reports which are contributed add ons in the Plugins directory

Other Report Locations

System-Level (site-wide) Reports

  • Comments - Click Site Administration – Reports. See all comments created on the site.
  • Config changes - Shows changes made by an administrator to the site configuration.
  • Course overview - Click Site Administration – Reports.  You can choose to view reports of the most active courses or the most participatory courses over a certain time period. Results are displayed in a bar chart and in a table.
  • Custom reports (Report Builder) - Click Site Administration – Reports.  this feature allows administrators to create and share custom reports relating to the site, courses and/or users using the following sources: Badges, Blogs, Cohorts, Comments, Course categories, Course participants, Courses, Files, Notes, Tags, Task logs, User badges, and  Users.
  • Events list - Click Site Administration – Reports.  Events in Moodle are an internal notification that something has happened. They are used for logging, for reports, and anytime one part of Moodle code wants to "listen" to things that are happening.
  • Growth report - If installed, Click Site Administration – Reports. This report is available on site and category level and shows historical information about: Users, Guests, Mobile devices, Badges, Course completions, Certificates, Courses, Enrolments, Questions, Resources, Countries.
  • Learning Analytics - Click Site Administration – Reports.  Learning analytics are software algorithms that are used to predict or detect unknown aspects of the learning process, based on historical data and current behavior. There are four main categories of learning analytics.
  • Logs / Live Logs - Click Site Administration – Reports. Logs are activity reports for courses or the site. Live Logs display a table of each click performed by users from the past hour and updates every 60 seconds.
  • Question instances - Click Site Administration – Reports.  Reports where particular question types are used on the site.
  • Statistics – Click Site Administration – Reports. The statistics graphs and tables show how many view and hits there have been on various parts of your site during various time frames. They do not show how many distinct users there have been.

Course-Level Reports

  • Activity Completion - Displays a table of students and their activity completion status. Teachers can manually override any checkbox to toggle an activity as complete or incomplete: an overridden completion status will appear in red. Click More – Reports in the Course Menu.  
  • Activity views report - Displays a running count, per-activity, of total views and unique views by all users. Activities are listed in the order they appear in the course, and the data can be filtered by a span of dates. Click More – Reports in the Course Menu.  
  • Competency breakdown report - If enabled, the competency breakdown report allows teachers to view the competencies of each student in their course, along with their ratings. Click More – Reports in the Course Menu.
  • Course Completion report - Displays a table of students and their course completion status. Completion requirements need to be configured ahead of time that define what a "Complete Course" entails, such as Manual approval, Automatic approval based on completing pre-selected activities, or both. Click More – Reports in the Course Menu.
  • Event monitoring - If enabled, event monitoring allows users to subscribe to receive notification when certain events happen in a course or on the site. Click More – Reports in the Course Menu.
  • Insights Report - If enabled, displays a list of students that have not accessed a course they are enrolled in within the set analysis interval (by default the past month).  Instructors can “Accept” the data as accurate, mark a piece of data as “incorrectly flagged” / “Not applicable”, or “Send a message” to the Participant(s) to gain more insight. Performing one of the above actions helps future accuracy of the Insight report. Click More – Reports in the Course Menu.
  • Last Access to Course - Click Participants in the Course Menu to see a list, in day and hours, of the last time every user entered the course. Though the participant name, email address, and assigned groups can be downloaded, the Last Access to Course data does not export.
  • Logs / Live Logs - Displays a table of each click performed by all users. This table can be filtered by group, user, date (but not by a “span” of dates), activity, action, source, and event. Logs can be downloaded and further filtered in Excel. Live Logs display a table of each click performed by users from the past hour and updates every 60 seconds. Click More – Reports in the Course Menu.
  • Participation report - A report that generates a Yes/No list of activity completion status of users, along with how many times. It can be filtered by role, group, and action (View or Post), and allows individuals or groups (e.g. those who have not participated) to be notified with a custom message. Click More – Reports in the Course Menu.
  • Statistics report - If enabled, the statistics graphs and tables show how many views and hits there have been on various parts of your site during various time frames. They do not show how many distinct users there have been. They are processed daily at a time you specify. Click More – Reports in the Course Menu.  

Block-Level Reports

  • Activities – This block is located in the Resource Panel and provides an overview of data relevant to each type of Activity type or Resource in the course. When an activity type or resource is selected in the block, course activities are displayed in the order they appear in the course. Assignments, for example, will display the number of submissions for each activity in the course, broken down by type, along with due dates and submissions. Note: All "informational" resources are located in the "Resources" link, such as Book, File, Folder, Page, and URL.
  • Completion Progress – Click the "Overview of students" button to see a list of all students and their progress block completion statuses, along with an overall completion percentage. This data cannot be exported.  
  • Configurable Reports – If installed, this block is located in the Resource Panel. This block displays data from a list of available custom SQL reports.

Gradebook-Level Reports

  • Grade History report –  A report that allows teachers to view the grading history of a selected student, showing the grade history of an activity or grade book category. Can be filtered by date span, revised grades, or grader. Click Grades in the Course Menu, then select Grade Summary from the tertiary navigation dropdown menu.
  • Grade Summary –  A report that shows all grade-able activities in the course along with an average grade of all graded students per activity. Click Grades in the Course Menu, then select Grade Summary from the tertiary navigation dropdown menu.
  • Overview report –  A report of all current course grades of a selected student. Click Grades in the Course Menu, then select Grade Summary from the tertiary navigation dropdown menu

Activity-Level Reports

  • Logs – All activities have a Logs link in the Activity Menu, under "More". These logs are the regular course logs filtered directly down to that specific activity.
  • Assignment – If Offline Grading is enabled, a grading worksheet can be downloaded with data about Learners and submissions. Click View all Submissions, then select "Download grading worksheet" in the Grading action dropdown menu.
  • Checklist – If installed, click Report in the Activity Menu to access an overview of student checklist progress, which can be downloaded.
  • Choice – Click Responses in the Activity Menu to access a table of student responses, which can be downloaded.
  • Feedback  –  Click either Analysis or Responses in the Activity Menu to access a chart of response data or a table response data, respectively, which can be downloaded
  • Forum – Click Reports in the Activity Menu to access the Forum summary report, which displays a table of statics on each user's forum posts as well as their interactions with other posts. This data can be filtered by a span of dates, and data can be sorted per column. This data can be exported for all users and for individual users.  
  • H5P – Click Attempts Report in the Activity Menu to access a table of users' submission and attempt data. Further data on each attempt is typically available as well through a Report link next to each attempt. Data is only recorded for enrolled student Participants – guest users are in "preview mode" and this data is not captured.  
  • Lesson – Click Reports in the Activity Menu to access a table of users' submission and attempt data.  
  • Questionnaire - If installed, click More – View all Responses in the Activity Menu to access the Summary which displays a table of cumulative users' submission data.
  • Quiz – (*Also See Quiz Reports below) Click Results in the Activity Menu to access the Summary which displays a table of users' submission information of points earned overall and per question. Select Responses from the Tertiary Dropdown menu to access a table of user submission information of answers selected, correct/partial/incorrect status of each choice, and overall feedback. Select Statistics from the Tertiary Dropdown menu to access a table of user submission information of answers selected, correct/partial/incorrect status of each choice, and overall feedback. This data can be exported
  • Scorm – Click Reports in the Activity Menu to access the Summary which displays a Basic Report table of users' submission information of Attempt #, Start date, Last access date, score, and Track details (enabled at the bottom of the page). Click on a user's Attempt to the Learning Objects or click the Track details to see additional information.
  • Wiki – Select History from the tertiary dropdown menu to see a table of change history.  
Quiz Reports*
  • Question Bank Statistics - Within any quiz, click Question Bank in the Activity Menu select a specific Question bank category from the Match Category dropdown menu and click Apply filters. Contains statistical columns for "Needs checking?", "Facility Index", "Discriminative efficiency", and "Usage" -- these stats pull from the Quiz's Statistics Report.  
  • Responses Report - Within any quiz, click Results in the Activity Menu. Select Responses from the tertiary navigation dropdown menu. This report allows the teacher to see a table of answers for a quiz, with a row for each student and the student's selection.
  • Statistics Report - Within any quiz, click Results in the Activity Menu. Select Statistics from the tertiary navigation dropdown menu. This report gives a statistical (psychometric) analysis of the quiz, and the questions within it. The top section of this report gives a summary of the whole quiz. The next section gives an analysis showing all questions in a table format.  

User Reports

All User Reports can be access by visiting a user's system profile -- the available reports will be cumulative of all courses the user is enrolled. To see the user's data for a specific course, select a course from the user's profile to enter the user's course profile, and then select an available report.

A few of these reports contain the same data as those found in the Course Reports or Gradebook reports, but are already filtered down to the specific user and cannot be further filtered or exported when access from the user profile.

  • All logs / Today's Logs – Click Participants in the Course Menu, click the name of a Participant to load their course profile, then locate the Reports box. See a list of all the user's logs, or just the logs from the current day. Note: these are the same as the course logs, but cannot be exported or filtered.
  • Complete Report – Click Participants in the Course Menu, click the name of a Participant to load their course profile, then locate the Reports box. This report gives an overview of all activities, attempt statuses, file submissions, grades, and feedback of all course activities.
  • Grades  – Click Participants in the Course Menu, click the name of a Participant to load their course profile, then locate the Reports box. A report that displays all the user grades and feedback associated with course activities. Note – this is the same report as the "User Report" located within Grades in the Course Menu.  
  • (Grades) Overview Report  – Click Participants in the Course Menu, click the name of a Participant to load their course profile, then locate the Reports box. A report that displays all the current cumulative grade of all courses the user is enrolled. Note – this is the same report as the "Overview Report" located within Grades in the Course Menu.
  • Outline Report – Click Participants in the Course Menu, click the name of a Participant to load their course profile, then locate the Reports box. This report gives an overview of all activities, grades, and completion dates of all course activities. Note, this is similar to the Complete Report, but without the feedback and file submissions.
  • User Report – Click Participants in the Course Menu, click the name of a Participant to load their course profile, then locate the Reports box. A report that displays all the user grades and feedback associated with course activities.
