"Both the navigation block and the administration block can potentially have lots of nodes in them, resulting in what is popularly derided as the "scroll of death". We posit that a good navigation system should be simple and concise, and not necessarily contain the entire site map."

IMHO Scroll of death is more having so much content in a linear layout that it's impossible to navigate, rather than there being too many nodes in either of the blocks. However both influence each other: Lots of content in a straight list introduces navigation issues, however if the navigation only presents straight lists then likely to get content that simply reinforces it --Michael Hughes (talk) 21:42, 3 June 2014 (WST)
