Problems with course formats in 2.3

- No place for settings for my format.
- Can not take over complete control of page (get_mods, print_section etc)
- What is a 'section'? Current formats too constrained to a div with a list of li's
- What is the url for 'a section'?
- I don't see the problem with 1. I am not familiar with the code, and I don't know how it works, but the OU studyplanner course format has its own settings. 3. is not so simple. Constraints for course formats == consistency for users both teachers and students. There is a balance to be struck here. At the low level, the HTML should, of course, be generated by a renderer.--Tim Hunt 15:57, 14 August 2012 (WST)
- Maybe 1. should be 'no consistent place for settings'. Sam has provided me with a copy of the studyplan format and its really a great example of just how much power there is in the current course formats. --Dan Poltawski 14:24, 16 August 2012 (WST)
