Pinterest

Pinterest introduced a new dedicated 'follow' tab in March 2018 to follow people and collections.

  • "Find and plan your next project"
  • "Explore your interests to find the right ideas for you. As you discover new things to try, you’ll get personalized recommendations picked from the billions of ideas already on Pinterest"
  • "Easily save and organize your ideas in any way you want. You can plan for family dinners, home makeovers, weekend getaways and anything else you want to try"

Raindrop.io

Raindrop.io has a sidebar extension to add and curate things while users navigate the web. There's also apps for all major platforms.

  • "All in One Bookmark Manager"
  • "For your inspiration, read later, media and stuff"
  • "Save Anything from Around the Web"

StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon was founded in 2001 and has a very simple, focused homepage. Wikipedia describes it as "a discovery and advertisement engine (a form of web search engine) that pushes recommends of web content to its users. Its features allow users to discover and rate Web pages, photos and videos that are personalized to their tastes and interests using peer-sourcing, social-networking and advertising (sponsored pages) principles." More details about the company behind StumbleUpon (and its ad network) can be found here.

  • "Discover the best of the web, one click at a time"
  • (note: the Wikipedia page for StumbleUpon helpfully includes a diagram its information model for user profiles)*
