3) As a student progresses through school, he/she will tally up HUNDREDS of satisfied standards.  This will be a little overwhelming to view if they drill down to a granular level standard by standardHow will they report out as students acrrue more data?  Will it be in perhaps a way that is similar to the hierarchy and grade just showing "complete" when grade 5 ela standards for Reading Foundations are satisfied?  Is that what would be in the "My Outcomes" part for the elementary student where it says Ball State U Requirements for Graduation--this would actually just be the particular title of the standard/outcome hierarchy strand?

Overall Use-Case Draft Comments for Use-Cases Related to Tracking Common Core Standards, US K-12 Use-Cases:

First: The idea that students should be able to pull outcomes with them throughout their school career, perhaps tagged to their profile and/or to specific portfolio pieces, is pretty powerful. It is like a dream come true, really, for me and is a lot closer to the vision I had of what outcomes would some day be able to do when I first looked at them in version 1.8.

Now for my concerns:

1) Some thought should be given to creating spaces for different types of use-cases for the standards (ie. formative vs. summative) This current doc is written with mostly a summative focus. To be honest, I'm only just beginning to wrap my head around how that difference ends up impacting how we track whether students are satisfying each standard per grade level.

2) Some standards need to be tracked by the school and by those granting grade level credit, but they may not be standards that need to be tracked by a student. Again, a reason to find a way for teachers to be able to choose whether or not outcomes are visible to their students, but still visible to the school administration.

Edit: moving my third concern to specifications as it is more of a logistics question than a use-case question, I think. Lesli
