When viewing a profile what other options might be helpful. Why people pull up someone's profile and what would they like or expect to be able to do?. After asking to the forum, this were the ideas being proposed:

* use your profile as a portfolio, to collect everything like bookmarks, uploads/assignments/projects, wiki articles. Users should be able to see their forum posts, but in a summary table version. That is, they would see not the whole post but a table showing the title, date of the last reply, and number of replies. That way, they could see what activity is going on in their discussions of interest.
* being able to set privacy options would be essential.
* view photo galleries.

So after asking to the forum, the arquitecture information would be the following:

As it is defined in [https://docs.moodle.org/en/group/index Moodle docs], the group mode can be defined at two levels:

* Course level - the group mode defined at the course level is the default mode for all activities defined within that course. This is determined in the course settings.

* Activity level - each activity that supports groups can also have its own group mode defined. If the course setting "Force group mode" is set to "Yes" then the option to define the group mode for individual activities is not available i.e. there is no Groups icon next to activities on the course page.

Moreover there are three group modes:
* No groups: there are no sub groups, everyone is part of one big community.
* Separate groups: each group can only see their own group, others are invisible.
* Visible groups: each group works in their own group, but can also see other groups. (The other groups' work is read-only)

However, it can not be under courses because you really only browse courses from the front page. Everywhere else you are in a particular course. So perhaps the problem would be solved by changing the name of the category "front page" for "home page" or "site home page" although there is not much difference between both of them.

JAVAX it is great for making sites a bit more responsive. Common examples include filling in drop down sub menus based on the users choice. For example, "please select the module category of the admin menu" -> "and the activity". The non ajax-y way would be to either load all possible submenus of the module category (that could be large and slow), and swap between them with something like an onSelect. Using ajax you can wait for the user to select the activity submenu, and bounce back to the server to get another submenu list, and then swap it in. Should send less data to the user, and be a bit more responsive.

However, it can not be under courses because you really only browse courses from the front page. Everywhere else you are in a particular course.
