Langconfig es un archivo importante dentro del paquete de idioma. Tiene que ver con todos los parámetros de configuración de ese idioma. Es una buena práctica el revisar primero este archivo al empezar con un nuevopaquete de idioma o al tomar la responsabilidad de un paquete existente. Usted puede editarlo al ir a lang.moodle.org y lo encontrará como el componente core_langconfig para su idioma.
En esta página usted encontrará un poco de documentación para cada configuración, lo que le ayudará a decidir qué es lo que debe de ir en cada sitio para su idioma. Vea las diferencias del Español internacional con el Español de México para más información.

Cómo se separan los decimales en su idioma. Usualmente un punto o una coma. Vea Separador decimal. En España se usa la coma decimal, mientras en México se usa el punto decimal. Esto es muy importante para los cálculos efectuadaos dentro de Moodle, por ejemplo, en el libro de calificaciones y en los resultados de preguntas con operaciones aritméticas.

Si su paquete de idioma depende de otro, éste es el lugar para escribir de cúal paquete de idioma depende. Para la mayoría d elos paquetes de idioma, ésto debería dejarse vacío, lo que hace que por defecto se utilice Inglés si faltaran cadenas de texto traducidas.
Ejemplo: El idioma Español para Argentina es básicamente el mismo que el Español internacional, con muy pocos cambios. Al crear un paquete de idioma que tiene un idioma paterno, se usará dicho idioma paterno para las frases no existentes en el nuevo paquete. Si alguna frase faltara en ambos paquetes, se usará el original en inglés.
En la página de descargas de paquetes de idioma (http://download.moodle.org/langpack) usted puede ver cuantas frases son diferentes del paquete de idioma paterno.
