Question banks in Moodle 5.0

What is a Question bank?

Accessed from Course navigation > More > Question banks, a question bank allows a teacher to create, preview and edit questions in a dedicated space. The questions may be used in a Quiz. Within a question bank questions are organized in categories and subcategories similar to the way files are stored in folders and subfolders.

Each course can have several question banks. They are, by default, accessible across courses where you are a teacher. So as a teacher, you can add questions from your question banks to any quiz in any of your courses on the whole Moodle site. Changes to a question in a question bank are reflected in all places where the question is used.

By default only those with the editiing Teacher role have the capabilities to create, preview and edit questions in a question bank and to share them between courses. These capabilities may be restricted for specific question banks or be assigned to other roles to grant them permissions to manage questions accordingly.

Note: Questions may also be created and saved in the context of a quiz. The questions in this activity related question bank can only be used in that quiz but not in other quizzes.
