The URL downloader repository enables users to enter the URL of an image (any type e.g. png, jpg) for copying into Moodle. The URL downloader repository enables users to enter the URL of an image (any type e.g. png, jpg) for copying into Moodle. It may also be used to obtain all images from a web page by entering the web page address.
It's useful when you need to get a larger file to your course, as you don't need to save the file on your computer then upload it to Moodle - instead you simply ask Moodle to fetch it directly.
Repository capabilities
There is just one capability, Use URL downloader in file picker, which is allowed for the default authenticated user role.
