Activity report

To access an activity report:

# Log in as a teacher or administrator
# Select a course to generate a report on
# Go to the "Administration" box on the left side of the page
# Select "Reports"
# On the new screen, select "Activity report". It will be approximately in the middle of the screen. [[Image:Activity-report.PNG|thumb|Where to click for a full report]]
# You will have an activity report sorted by topic [[Image:Activity-report-view.PNG|thumb|A full activity report]]
An activity report will show all activity in the course, sorted by topic. Each item will be shown with its type and name.

Alternately, for a report on a single person:

# Log in as a teacher or administrator
# Select a course to generate a report on
# Go to the "People" box on the left side of the page
# Select "Participants"
# Click the person's name
# Select the "Activity Reports" tab
From here you can select an outline report (which looks similar to an activity report on all students), full report, grade report, or select today's logs or all logs. Again, reports are sorted by topic. [[Image:Individual-activity-report.png|thumb|How to get an individual report]]
A detailed report on a person will show each item, organized by topic, with what that person has done involving that item. For example, a forum will be listed with how many posts to that forum a person has made.

To access an activity report, log in as a teacher or administrator. Then, select the course you would like the activity report for. From this page, you can select the link "Full report of recent activity..." in the "recent activity" box. This will bring you to a report. To refine the report, click "Advanced search". Note that this is a link, not a button. From here, you can select who you want a report on, which activities, which groups, and how far back to search. You can also select how to sort the results. For example, to generate a report about assignments from Colin Jones, dating back to the beginning of the course, select "Colin Jones" under "Participants", "All assignments" under "Activities", and "All days" under "Since", then click "Show recent activity". This is a button. This will generate a report grouped by topic.

Note that it is not possible to generate a report on a subset of students, except for groups you have already defined.
