| Patrick Henry made several convincing points in his speech at the Second Virginia Provincial Convention. He stated that the British had their military and navy in America to control the colonists, as there wasn't another power close for them to intimidate. He also stated that the British would make slaves of the colonists if they didn't fight back. Britain ignored their conservative methods of requesting change. The colonists had done everything to prevent the war, but Britain basically insisted. Probably the most important point that Henry made was that America was not weak, and that it would not get any stronger than it was.
