The Box.net repository enables users to copy files from Box.net into Moodle.

When a file from the Box.net repository is re-used elsewhere on Moodle, a teacher has the option to make a copy (a new, unconnected version) or to create a shortcut/alias. See Working with files for more details.

Enabling the Box.net repository

The Box.net repository may be enabled by a site administrator in Settings > Site administration > Modules > Repositories > Manage repositories.

Obtaining an API key

IMPORTANT: From December 14 2013, the way Moodle and Box.net connect is changing. Please see Box.net APIv1 migration for more details

Create a Box.net account at http://www.box.net/.

Visit http://www.box.net/developers/api. Click on Start developing, then Create new application, fill out the form and 'Save service' to get your API key. Although you must enter something in the settings, it doesn't matter to Moodle what you put.

Capabilities

There is just one capability, View box.net repository, which is allowed for the default authenticated user role.
