Talk:How groups work in Moodle

From MoodleDocs

It would be good if you could not only assign groups to activities, but also resources. That way you could give out different resources to different groups and then they could do assignments based on them.

(having two different courses doesn't solve this problem as it assumes that *everything* will be different).

Would be great if this could be added to Moodle 2.0

Does "How groups work in Moodle" apply o Moodle 1.8.2?

Site Groups

I got all excited about global groups, then realized these could be seen (and used?) all over the site. Apparently editing can only be done in the context in which the group was created. Ok but.

What about real global groups, like an academic department? Membership in this Moodle site group would determine what you see as available courses. Possibly penetrating into the activity level as do the current course groups. Why do I think that is a lot of code and processing power?--Chris collman 13:09, 31 August 2007 (CDT)
