...and Step 4 won't work as it sits. You only have 'sudo' for the original clone. You're missing lots of additional 'sudo's or a 'chown'.

Are you sure you going to leave the permissions at these:

sudo chmod 777 /var/moodledata
sudo chmod 777 /var/www/moodle
