Managing content

Moodle is not primarily a content management system but it does offer a range of ways to import, export and manage digital content of any kind to enable and support learning.

This section, Managing content, contains information and resources about:

• Working with files and folders. This includes an explanation of the new file handling, Private files, File picker, Legacy course files and, for those of you migrating from 1.x versions of Moodle, the main differences between Moodle 1.x and 2.x in working with files.

• Working with media either as video, audio, images or embedding.

• Editing text by using HTML editor and a range of useful filters, which can turn your text into eg. mathematical notation, links into playable video and more.

• Connecting your Moodle with external repositories designed to bring in content, web-based or installed near you, directly into your Moodle: Flickr, Google Docs, Mahara, Dropbox, Box.net and more!

• Publishing content from your Moodle to external portfolios to share with the world.

• Managing copyright licences and detecting or preventing plagiarism.
