Selected enrolment methods may be enabled at the course level. Thus, self enrolment may be allowed for certain courses and not for others.

Depending upon the enrolment methods enabled by an administrator for the site (in Settings > Site administration > Plugins > Enrolments > Manage enrol plugins), some or all of the following enrolment methods may be used for enrolling users in the course:

  • Manual enrolment - Enables users to be enrolled manually in Settings > Course administration > Users > Enrolled users
  • Self enrolment - Enables users to enrol themselves in the course
  • Guest access - Allows users with the guest role to view the contents of a course
  • Cohort sync - Enables members of a cohort to be enrolled in a course (by an administrator or manager)
  • Course meta link - Enables users enrolled in another course to be enrolled in this course
