New for administrators

If you're a Moodle admin, this page will tell you about the major changes affecting you in Moodle 3.1. If you'd like to see full details of the release with technical information, here are the Moodle 3.1 release notes.

New admin settings

Competency based education: Available by default, competencies, learning plans and related settings may be disabled from Site administration >Competencies >Competencies settings

Competency frameworks may be added, learning plan templates created and plans assigned to students as individuals or in a cohort.

Global search: Searching the whole site may be enabled for your users by enabling Global search in Site administration > Advanced Features and following the steps for setting up Solr for Global search
