Talk:Simple calculated question type

While the article talks about {param} it does not fully explain what that actually is in terms anyone who is not a programmer could understand. Is this a "wild card"? Or something different? A simple calculated question is not simple at all. Why does the question need a wild card? Why can a simple answer not be entered? Or should there be another question type? At the OU, we made https://moodle.org/plugins/qtype_varnumeric, https://moodle.org/plugins/qtype_varnumericset and https://moodle.org/plugins/qtype_varnumunit for our own use, and shared them. Not sure if they count as simple though.--Tim Hunt (talk) 02:15, 9 February 2016 (AWST)
