This form is used to create an IP-limited user key for the purpose of publishing exports from the gradebook. A valid user key enables a user whose IP is not included in the IP restriction value to download exports from the gradebook without having to log into Moodle.  
This form is used to create an IP-limited user key for the purpose of publishing exports from the gradebook. A valid user key enables a user whose IP is included in the IP restriction value to download exports from the gradebook without having to log into Moodle.  


For example, a student having been given such a valid User key would be able to download his/her grades in a given format by simply reaching a specified URL, without needing to enter log-in details. This makes it possible to create scripts that periodically download grades, email the results etc...
For example, an administrator having been given such a valid User key would be able to download a grade report in a given format by simply reaching a specified URL, without needing to enter log-in details.
 
Note that all capabilities are in full force when downloading grades in this way, so a student will not be able to download another user's grades, or hidden grades etc.
